Last afternoon the police apprehended Ashiana resident, Ajay Mehta for tampering the energy monitoring net meter. The problem was identified by the local community transformer reporting more energy readings than the combined consumption reported by the net meters. The house consuming more energy was pinpointed during peak energy consumption in daytime.
Mr. Ajay is facing fines upto 50,000 Indicoins for his misconduct with an ultimatum. Inspector N. Munda said,"I would like to remind citizens that the government has ensured 150 units of energy consumption per person a month to ensure every home gets constant electric supply. Adherence to this law is expected from all citizens."
We tried to reach out to Mr. Ajay to know what were the reasons that led to taking this drastic step but the police didn't allow any conversation with him or his family. We will update this article when we receive new news.
