New Delhi: The Central government on Thursday announced simplified guidelines for BPOs and ITES companies to reduce the compliance burden on them and to facilitate virtual work within the Extranet.

The new rules for the Extranet seek to create an easier platform for remote working, while removing the obligations for companies to operate their own proprietary VR work platforms accredited with the regulatory authorities. The move assumes significance as people have been asking for relaxations for ‘work on Extranet’ citing the huge number of users across the world and its ease of use within the ecosystem.

The stocks of Extranet rose as much a 11% within an hour of the news making Extranet the most valuable company in the world. Mr. Chandra Jones VP of Extranet, India said, "We worked for 3 years to implement all the regulation needed in the various work sector within the Extranet framework. Our expertise in this domain with superior user experience, connection speed and high fidelity means we can also offer the same experience for the employer and employees. Additionally all of user will now be able to connect to employers around the world."

However, the move has been questioned by the India Open Network Organisation. In a statement Mr. Rahul Singh, President of IONO said, "The government has handed off one of the most crucial technology in the hands of one company. For years they have cited user security and privacy behind their products operating in a closed ecosystem. But we don't know if they really do it as the system is off access to any scrutiny. They have dictated the rules & costs for all development by third party within their ecosystem and currently they charge as much as 30% as commission to developers. Without any competition what happens if they increase the costs to 40,60 or 80% in the next few years?"

The foundation along with Industrial leaders across the country are planning to take the case to Supreme Court against both the government and the Extranet.
